Transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCT) ward

1

This department started in 2017 with three beds and was established in 2019 with all facilities and six beds and a specialized and sub-specialized hemato-oncology team. The patient rooms of the ward are of the highest standard: There are 6 single rooms that equipped with a refrigerator, television, and a nurse-call system. Each room has toilet and shower facilities. While all rooms have a separate isolation system with positive air pressure to protect patients from all contamination and pathogens, the general and support space of the ward has negative air pressure.

Currently, autologous transplantation is performed for patients with lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

Until June 2019, 90 autologous transplants were performed in the old part. And after the opening of the new building in June 2019, despite the Corona pandemic, 34 successful transplants were done in this section with no mortality.

By the end of 2021, 230 patients had stem cell transplantation in this hospital.
